What I learned about Lawrence Hill:

  • He will graciously sign as many books as you can bring him.
  • He writes his entire first draft without editing or worrying about how it reads; when finished, he will cut the unneeded parts and revise; cut and revise again; and so on.

A Gala Evening with Lawrence Hill

My husband and I are so NOT gala goers.  But if I get to meet Lawrence Hill and have my books signed by him, we will be gala goers if only for this one night!

It happens tonight at the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic in Lunenburg, NS.  I am so excited!  He’ll be selling his new book, The Illegal, and speaking and signing books!  And hopefully allowing me to take a selfie with him!

As an added bonus, proceeds from ticket sales go to the South Shore Public Libraries projects.  It can’t get better than that.
